About The Pemberton
The Pemberton is a food, beverage, retail and art collective located at the historical Sarah H. Pemberton house in Downtown Phoenix. Built in 1920 and on the Phoenix Historic Property Register since 2004, the house is named after Sarah H. Pemberton, widow of Thomas Pemberton, who was CEO to the predecessor of APS.
In 2018, True North Studio acquired the landmark property and quickly began enhancements to return the home to its quintessential glory. In addition to interior updates, and structural improvements, artists were commissioned to paint the exterior of the carriage house nestled in the backyard. Local artist Thomas “Breeze” Marcus joined forces with another Phoenix-based artist, Nyla Lee Bevel and WHOLE9, an artist duo based out of Japan to create stunning works on each side.
Fast-forward to present day, this property now is a space for local makers and F&B concepts as well as host to community and private events. The Pemberton is a nod to our wild enthusiasm about the evolution of Downtown Phoenix.
